Drove up to Madison to see The Yarn Harlot. Forces conspired against me to make me unable to actually buy a book and have it autographed and have my picture taken with my first pair of socks (a present to my mom last November; already there's two holes I have to darn. I don't know if I'm happy or sad about that), but just the talk was so worth it. She's a riot. I felt kinda ghetto, though. All around me people were knitting wonderful things out of yarn so beautiful it would make angels weep, and I was making a belt. Out of Red Heart. Ghetto.
I got my tax return today. $166. I talk big talk about how I'm going to pay my library fines (embarrassingly big) and pay off some debts, but really I'm going to blow the whole thing on yarn, like this and this. And possibly this.

Erin, I was thinking yesterday that if you crocheted up some bags that look like this, they would probably sell like gangbusters here in Madison. Especially if you label them "Farmers Market Bags" or something!
This one's nice, too!
Or you could probably knit some tote-type bags and call them shopping bags, too.
